National Instruments has won awards for
the way it has built user feedback into the development process for its
flagship product. The company invites users to submit features and rate
others' submissions, collects feedback about new technologies before
they're ready for release and actively measures the success of their
co-innovation. In this panel, we'll bring folks
together from Community, Product Management and IT teams to teach us how
they're doing it - and how they're measuring it. Panelists include: For more information on this event, please see the following URL: http://www.ixda.org/node/28858 |

What is the Document Lock Plugin?
Retrofits aspects of lock-based collaboration onto SBS documents, with
an emphasis on lock visibility/awareness over absolute enforcement. It
is very difficult to enforce a persisted (non-session-based) Lock, like
a Source-Control system, as a plugin given the current state of SBS.
Instead this plugin focuses on the ability to offer a social process to
help people coordinate better when collaborating on Documents.

Project Managed all aspects of the upgrade as the Jive SBS Architect for National Instruments. Maintained strong communication through active discussion and Beta Access Programs, to mitigate risk of software version not being available and stable upon desired release date. Jive SBS 4.5.0 was released on June 8th, 2010 ... 2 years of customizations, extensions, and plugins merged/migrated/released with the rest of the platform on ni.com/community on June 25th.
Released the QuickTemplates Plugin, Admin Essentials Plugin, and the ICS Export Plugin to the Jive Community in response to this upgrade. Numerous internal plugins, such as SSO/SEO related capabilities, were created as part of this release as well.
Update: Shortly after this upgrade, lead the upgrade of our internal Jive SBS instance from 4.0.2 to 4.5.2. |
